For years I’ve been deeply inspired by my friend Suzanne Morrow’s poetry, so I set her gorgeous words and messages to music. Suzanne writes of hope, connection, and compassion, while being grounded in Spirit and the natural world. Inspired by the great masters Rumi, Hafiz and Kabir, Suzanne weaves wonder, musings, and questions and makes powerful declarations of a better world. Thanks, Suzanne, for being my muse! Eight of the songs on the album are Suzanne’s poems and the rest are originals (except for one song with music by Lila Downs and Paul Cohen!)

My music is wide-ranging and encompasses many styles and musicscapes: from the sweet a cappella tones of Each Step to the upbeat melodies and Latin rhythms of Eight; from the joyful harmonies of Soul Music to the depth and serenity of La luz del mundo; from the complex character study and ballad The Tale of Nella Mae to the personal and spiritual reflections of In the Midst; and from the reflective and connecting Ancestors to the lively and driving Another Spoke Upon the Wheel.

Thanks to the Momentum artist immersion program, Ray Shaffer and my dear husband Len Beyea for helping to bring this project into fruition!
